Welcome to "My" Team RMHC Fundraising Page
I am pleased to announce that on October 7th I will be representing Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) at the 2018 Bank of America Chicago Marathon!!! As a member of Team RMHC, I will be training, fundraising and ultimately running 26.2 to help keep families together.
Here’s a little bit about me and my cause…..
About two years ago, I decided it was time to take charge of my health. I had finally realized that I wasn’t 21 anymore (unfortunately far from it).
My first goal was to lose some weight. Mission accomplished! I lost over 60 lbs.
My next goal was to begin to exercise. I started out slow in the fall of 2016 and haven’t looked back. I have met a ton of great people (shout out to FNRC) and successfully ran in the Chicago half-marathon in October 2017.
This year, I have set my sights on running in the Chicago marathon. I fully expect this to be extremely difficult journey. In order to accomplish this feat, I will need some extra motivation. Here is where RMHC comes in.
Several weeks after the half marathon last year I lost my mother, she was so special to so many people a true angel on earth. It was during this time that I decided that I would honor her memory by selecting a charitable organization that would reflect the way she lived her life.
Ronald McDonald House fits that bill by keeping families together and near the care they need for a sick child for little to no cost to the family. Helping a sick child fight their illness takes a big enough emotional toll on a family. Adding a financial strain can make it all almost too much to bear.
Did you know $25 can provide dinner for a family and $80 can give a family a room for a night? Your donation, of any amount, will not only help me achieve my goal, but will help children stay close to their families when they need it most!
Please support me and the Ronald McDonald House charity for the 2018 Bank of America Chicago Marathon by donating today.
Thank you for your support!!!!
