Welcome to Scott's Personal Page
On October 10th, I will run my seventh Bank of America Chicago Marathon representing Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC). As a member of Team RMHC, I will be training, fundraising and ultimately running 26.2 miles to help keep families together.
Cancellation of last year's marathon was a real punch in the gut for RMHC. In the years that I've run with Team RMHC, we've raised between $1.3 and $1.5 million a year to help fund the amazing work that RMHC does for families in need. That makes this year's marathon and the fundraising I and hundreds of other Team RMHC runner will be doing more important than ever. That's why I've set the ambitious goal of raising at least $20,000 between now and race day. It costs about $100 for RMHC to provide a family with dinner and a room for the night at a Ronald McDonald House (for which the family pays nothing). With your help, you and I will provide at least 200 nights of dinners and rooms for families who will find comfort and peace of mind in being able to stay close to their hospitalized children.
As I have in the past, I will put the name of each person who donates on the Team RMHC shirt I will wear on race day. So, not only do you get to help families in need, you also get to (virtually) run the entire 26.2 mile course with me. And I promise to run slowly enough so that each of the Team RMHC teammates, thousands of Chicago Marathon runners and even more spectators will see your name featured as a generous supporter of RMHC.
I am grateful to each of you for your generous support.
