Welcome to My Personal Page
In 2020, I will be training for my 5th consecutive Chicago Marathon. I have joined a team of amazing runners who want to train with a purpose. On October 11th, I will be representing Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) at the 2020 Bank of America Chicago Marathon! As a member of Team RMHC, I will be training, fundraising and ultimately running 26.2 miles to help keep families together.
Training can be grueling, especially with the heat and humidity Chicago summers bring as the weekly miles increase. After volunteering at RMHC, and choosing to run for this unbelievable charity, I realized that no matter how difficult my runs could be, it paled in comparison to the strength and determination I saw in the faces of these innocent, sick children. They were there fighting a battle to live. I am grateful to have my health and the ability to run; therefore, I am running for these sweet children and their families.
Many families travel far from home and spend several weeks or months to get treatment for their seriously ill or injured children – a long time to be away or to divide a family. And, for children facing a serious medical crisis, nothing seems scarier than not having mom and dad close by for love and support. A Ronald McDonald House provides a place for families to call home so they can stay close by their hospitalized child at little to no cost.
This is what your donation does; it keeps families close to relieve the stress of the travel involved with doctors’ appointments, treatments, meals, etc. Did you know $25 can provide dinner for a family and $80 can give a family a room for a night? Your donation, of any amount, will not only help me achieve my goal, but will help children stay close to their families when they need it most!
