Support Reid on his first marathon!
As some of you might know, I will be running the Chicago Marathon next weekend (attempting, I should say). It's been quite the journey having started my training at the end of Spring -- running 30+ miles a week on a strict training plan that I followed without fail. I even took my running shoes with me to Hawaii to wake up at the crack of dawn and squeeze some miles in before the day. Unfortunately, while meandering the streets of O'ahu, my left foot gave out on me and I got plantar fasciitis (NOT a fun injury..). I spent the next month and a half nursing my foot back to health but was out of commission during the peak of my training.
I have been rebuilding strength and confidence in the last month in hopes that I can finish what I set out to do. In other words, I am determined to finish this marathon whether I have to hobble, walk or downright crawl across the finish line.
More importantly, though this doubles as a personal milestone, I am representing Ronald McDonald House of Charities (RMHC) and all donations will go directly to helping keep families together.
- $25 can provide dinner for a family
- $50 can fill a Ronald McDonald Family Room with snacks
- $80 can give a family a room for a night
- $125 can pay the daily utility bill
- $250 can stock a playroom with toys and games
Any bit counts! Wish me luck (I'm gonna need it!)...also feel free to submit any and all song requests. Currently building out my running playlist and could use some recs :)
