I'm sure you're thinking, why me? The least athletic person you know signed up to run a marathon. Believe me, I'm asking the same question. Here is the main reason I gave myself:
I want to set a good example for kids. Someone with determination, drive and just enough crazy to keep things fun. And I almost needed the services of Ronald McDonald House. You see, my son was diagnosed with cancer before he was born. Luckily for us, he "outgrew" it before his first birthday.
So, on October 13th, just after my son's 10th birthday, I will be representing Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) at the 2019 Bank of America Chicago Marathon! As a member of Team RMHC, I will be training, fundraising and ultimately running 26.2 miles to help keep families together.
Did you know $25 can provide dinner for a family and $80 can give a family a room for a night? Your donation, of any amount, will not only help me achieve my goal, but will help children stay close to their families when they need it most!
