Welcome to Debbie Chen's personal page - Running in memory of Jackson Colwell (Team Run4J)
On October 13th, in memory of my nephew, Jackson, I will be representing Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) at the 2019 Bank of America Chicago Marathon! As a member of Team RMHC, I will be training, fundraising and ultimately running 26.2 miles to help keep families together.
As many of you know, my nephew Jackson Cowell passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on November 7, 2018, before he turned 18 months old. He was the only child of my sister, Jennifer, and brother-in-law, Joel. Jackson brought such love and joy to our family's lives and we miss him every day. When Jack was in the hospital, we were lucky to be surrounded by the most caring doctors, nurses, and hospital staff. While having a sick child is one of the most difficult situations that any parent could ever experience, I couldn't imagine a family not being able to stay together to try and get through such a tough time. For years, RMHC had been a top-rated charity in providing vital resources and compassionate care in hospitals, and helping families with sick children find comfort and support. We want to celebrate Jack's life and continue to live courageously and every day as best as we can. Jack was such a happy baby, and we know he would have wanted to help others during a time of need.
How can you help?
1. Join our team and run with me and my brother-in-law Joel
2. Contribute by making a donation
3. Cheer us to the finish on race day
Did you know $25 can provide dinner for a family and $80 can give a family a room for a night? Your donation, of any amount, will not only help me achieve my goal, but will help children stay close to their families when they need it most.
Thank you everyone for your continued love and support!
