26.2: RMHC and YOU
Running a marathon isn't hard.
I mean sure it isn't a walk in the park.
And sure it will definitely hurt.
And sure it will likely test you both mentally and physically.
But again...it isn't hard.
What is hard is watching your child go through chemo.
What is hard is spending your childhood in the white walls of a hospital.
What is hard is laying awake at night, praying that your sick child wakes up the next morning.
What is hard is being at work when you desperately want to be at their bedside.
What is hard is financing illness.
THOSE scenarios are hard. Hard beyond belief.
And those scenarios are exactly why I'm taking on a challenge that many folks claim to be hard.
This year, I'm setting out to raise money for the Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) by running the 2019 Chicago Marathon as a member of Team RMHC. This opportunity allows me to help the hundreds of thousands of individuals who are doing HARD things everyday. I invite you to join me in reconsidering what tasks in your life are truly hard. And I invite you to join me in supporting families whose challenges are greater than our own.
Your donation to RMHC helps make the lives of families with sick kiddos just a touch easier.
You see, RMHC helps families stay close when they need it the most, providing them with meals and a place to stay close to the hospital. This in turn helps take a touch of the financial burden off of a family and helps eliminate the stress of commuting. Ronald McDonald houses across the country have become a physical retreat and mental and emotional saving grace for families.
Your $25 donation can provide dinner for a family and your $80 donation can provide a family with a room for a night. And your donation, of any amount, will not only help me achieve my goal, but will help families stay close to each other when they need it most!
I can't thank you enough for making a difference in the world around you and in the precious lives that fill it!
