Mike Pohl - Run4J
On October 13th, 2019, I will be representing Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) at the 2019 Bank of America Chicago Marathon. As a member of Team RMHC, I will be training, fundraising and ultimately running 26.2 miles to help keep families together.
As you might be aware, Jackie and my close friends, Jen and Joel lost their son, Jackson Colwell, passing away November 7, 2018, unexpectedly before he turned 18 months old. During their time at Advocate Christ Children's Hospital - Oak Lawn, RMHC reached out with not only hot meals but a place to eat them while at the hospital. For Jen and Joel, being by Jack's side was the most important goal. RMHC helped achieve that goal, along with providing a place on-site to renew their spirits and replenish their bodies. One of the ways Jen and Joel are trying to heal as a family is by training for this run together as a family, and with friends, as it gives them a focal point and an opportunity to give back to a great charity that helps parents with sick children. I am looking forward to creating many positives for future families by fundraising and running for RMHC in Jack's memory.
