Thank You for Visiting My Fundraising Page
After two years of applying and two years of getting the email that no runner wants (a super polite thanks but no thanks, we’re full, see ya never!), I decided to go a different route to get to my 26.2 miles in Chicago. I spent a few days looking and was incredibly drawn to Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC). I have been so fortunate in my life to be healthy and have my parents nearby when I need them – even at 35-years-old! Therefore, I simply cannot imagine what some families must go through to get medical care for their children near home or far away.
Ronald McDonald Houses are built on the notion that “nothing else should matter when a family is focused on the health of their child.” Families should concentrate on getting their child the best care possible and on not where they can afford to stay. Houses provide families with private bedrooms, playrooms, and home-cooked meals. At the hospital, Ronald McDonald Family Rooms give families a quiet space with a kitchen area, shower and laundry facilities, and sleeping rooms. Since 1974, families have saved over $930,000,000 in housing and meal expenses.
So, on October 11, 2020, I will PROUDLY represent RMHC at the Bank of America Chicago Marathon! As a member of Team RMHC, I will be training, fundraising and ultimately running 26.2 miles to help keep families together.
Did you know $25 can provide dinner for a family, $50 can fill a Ronald McDonald Family Room with snacks, and $80 can give a family a room for a night?
Your donation, of any amount, will not only help me achieve my goal, but will help children stay close to their families when they need it most!
Many, many thanks to you all,
