RUNNING WITH A PURPOSE - Kelly Hooton
Dear Friends and Family,
I am very excited that I have the opportunity to combine two of my passions, running and teaching/supporting children with special needs. On October 11th, I will be “Running With a Purpose” as I join the Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) for the 2020 Bank of America Chicago Marathon.
As many of you know, I have spent the past 29 years teaching children with special needs. In doing so, I have witnessed firsthand many students go through extensive medical treatments and hospitalizations that have been stressful for the entire family. Together with 10 other women, I am working to raise $15,000.00 to help children who are hospitalized stay close to their families. A $25.00 donation can provide dinner for a family and an $80.00 donation can give a family a room for a night. The Ronald McDonald Houses are built to allow families to focus on the health of their child instead of having to worry about hotel arrangements and meals. I am very excited to be a part of this team as we work together toward our common goal, to keep families close together.
Please consider supporting the RMHC organization. Your donation of any amount will help me reach my personal goal, and at the same time help children keep their families with them during their time of need. During my training and fundraising, it is the stories of these children that will push me to run 26.2 miles. I will be wearing the names of my donors on my race day shirt so that we can do this together.
Thank you for your support. #KeepingFamiliesClose
