On October 13th, 2019, Team RUN 4J will be representing Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) at the 2019 Bank of America Chicago Marathon. As a member of Team RMHC, we will be training, fundraising and ultimately running 26.2 miles to help keep families together.
We will be running in honor of our Team Captains' (Joel & Jen) son, Jackson Colwell, who passed away November 7, 2018, unexpectedly before he turned 18 months old. During their time at Advocate Christ Children's Hospital - Oak Lawn, RMHC reached out to them with not only hot meals but a place to eat them while at the hospital. Being by Jack's side was the most important goal and to have a place on-site to renew your spirits and replenish your bodies is just as important. One of the ways we are trying to heal as a family is training for this run together, as it gives us a focal point and an opportunity to give back to a great charity that helps parents with sick children. Let's create as many positives as we can in Jack's memory.
RMHC is a top-rated charity with global HQ in Chicago. It provides local support and housing services to families with seriously ill or injured children.
How can you help?
1. Join the Run 4J team and run with us!
2. Contribute by making a donation
3. Cheer us to the finish on race day
Did you know $25 can provide dinner for a family and $80 can give a family a room for a night? Your donation, of any amount, will not only help me achieve my goal, but will help children stay close to their families when they need it most!
Thanks for your support,
