Welcome to Charm's Personal Page
Running has been something I've done most of my life. A love-hate relationship at times (maybe some of you can relate), running helps me feel truly free. I had a soft goal of running a marathon "someday". Now a 3X marathoner, I can say that I've finally embraced the whole lifestyle. Yes, there are times that I am reluctant to get out there.. but I have to admit that I really do enjoy the mental toughness it requires. It has served me well in times when my mental health has suffered because training for and running a marathon definitely gives you time to think (5 - 6 hours for me to be exact!). Think about how fortunate I am to be able to even run 26.2 miles. Think about how grateful I am to run the races I have with beautiful scenery and like-minded people. Think about my next goals and just enjoy finishing.
One of my favourite things about running marathons is that part or all of your entry fee goes to a local hospital, healthcare or community organization. I always felt good lining up at the start line thinking not only am I going to run this race - I am doing a good thing by running for a worthy organization.
So enter my next goal - A Major marathon - Chicago - but not just as a participant with an individual entry but as part of a charity team!
On October 13th, I will be representing Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) at the 2024 Bank of America Chicago Marathon! As a member of Team RMHC, I will be training, fundraising and ultimately running 26.2 miles to help keep families together.
Did you know RMHC helps millions of families each year? RMHC helps families cope better and focus on the needs of their sick child, allowing them the ability to spend more time with their child, to interact with their doctors, and to make important decisions about their child’s care.
It costs approximately $100 to give a family one night of comfort and support. Your donation, of any amount, will not only help me achieve my goal, but will help children stay close to their families when they need it most!
Please consider donating to this worthy cause and help me help Ronald McDonald House Charities - Let's do this thing!!!!
Thank you!!!
