Join me on my marathon journey-Chicago Bound!
Update as of 9/14/22
I made my fundraising goal so I have earned my bib to run! Thank you to everyone who donated. You can still make a donation to support RMHC and the wonderful mission. I just finished my longest run ever --18 miles. When it gets hard I think about everyone who has donated to support this journey and the families I'm supporting at our Ronald McDonald House. As hard as the long runs are getting, I'm still super excited to be on TEAM RMHC. I'm so thankful for everyone who is supporting me. Only 3 1/2 more weeks of training!
On October 9th, I will represent Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) at the 2022 Bank of America Chicago Marathon! As a member of Team RMHC, I am training, fundraising and running 26.2 miles to help keep families together.
Did you know RMHC helps millions of families each year? RMHC helps families cope better and focus on the needs of their sick child, allowing them the ability to spend more time with their child, to interact with their doctors, and to make important decisions about their child’s care.
It costs approximately $100 to give a family one night of comfort and support. Your donation, of any amount, will not only help me achieve my goal, but will help children stay close to their families when they need it most!
I will be on the streets of Chicago on October 9 running a marathon and checking an item off my bucket list. I've wanted to run a marathon since I started running back in 2004. I was about to start training for the Mercedes Marathon in 2011 when I found out I was pregnant with Zac. It's 10 years later but I'm so excited about this opportunity. I'm not a fast runner so I wouldn't qualify with my time so Team RMHC is a perfect way for me to get my bib for this amazing event and help a mission I love. 2022 will also be a huge milestone for me. This will be a wonderful 50th Birthday present!!!
The running aspect is amazing but to also be able to raise funds for a wonderful mission and be on a team with other RMHC supporters is a dream come true! Running is what lead me to volunteer at the Ronald McDonald House which lead to my dream job. It's such a blessing to have a job that I love so much! I get to go to work each day and know what I do makes an impact on the journey of so many families with sick children.
Please join me on this journey to my first marathon. I will need financial support to make it to my fundraising goal, moral support so I stay focused on training and people willing to do some long runs on the weekends! I'm grateful for any way you are able to support me and the mission of RMHC.
GO TEAM RMHC!!!
