Welcome to My Personal Page
Hello All!
Yes, it's official! I've been quietly training since the beginning of the year and I'm ready to take on the challenge: My First Marathon!!!
On October 13th, I am proud and excited to be representing Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) at the 2024 Bank of America Chicago Marathon! As a member of Team RMHC, I will be training, fundraising and ultimately running 26.2 miles to help keep families together.
After all, age (57) is just a number! And miles (26.2) are just numbers!!
Did you know RMHC helps millions of families each year? RMHC helps families cope better and focus on the needs of their sick child, allowing them the ability to spend more time with their child, to interact with their doctors, and to make important decisions about their child’s care.
I have personally volunteered many hours over the past 6 years on-site at our local Chicago area Ronald McDonald Houses (Advocate Hospital in Oak Lawn, Lurie at Northwestern and Comer at University of Chicago), cooking dinner and helping out in many different ways. I’ve seen first hand the need and services RMHC provides directly to families that are struggling with their hospitalized children. Many times these families have traveled long distances so their children can be treated at the top hospitals in the country. RMHC provides a comforting place for them to rest, eat and restore so they can be there for their children.
It costs approximately $100 to give a family one night of comfort and support. Your donation, of any amount, will not only help me achieve my goal, but will help children stay close to their families when they need it most!
