Welcome to Kim Boyko's 2024 Chicago Marathon Fundraising Page!
Friends and family,
As you might know, in October 2017, I flew to Chicago and lined up to run 26.2 miles through the Windy City. Things did not go as planned. I fell in mile 8 and unbeknownst to me at that time, broke my shoulder. Due to the pain, but being as stubborn as I am, I ended up walking in the last 18 miles to finish the race. Not excactly the Chicago marathon experience that I’d hoped for. Since then, I’ve been thinking about going back for a little redemption race. What better way to do that than to raise money for charity?!
On October 13th, I will be representing Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) at the 2024 Bank of America Chicago Marathon! As a member of Team RMHC, I will be training, fundraising and ultimately running 26.2 miles to help keep families together.
Did you know RMHC helps millions of families each year? RMHC helps families cope better and focus on the needs of their sick child, allowing them the ability to spend more time with their child, to interact with their doctors, and to make important decisions about their child’s care.
It costs approximately $100 to give a family one night of comfort and support. Your donation, of any amount, will not only help me achieve my goal, but will help children stay close to their families when they need it most!
I will be posting updates on my training progress in 2024 and when race time comes, I will send out a link where you can track me live during the race if you so choose.
Every little bit helps me reach my goal. I THANK YOU SO MUCH for your generosity and kindness.
Sincerely,
Kim
