Mission Possible Making a Difference
On October 13th, I will be representing Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) at the 2024 Bank of America Chicago Marathon! As a member of Team RMHC, I will be training, fundraising and ultimately running 26.2 miles to help keep families together.
Did you know RMHC helps millions of families each year? RMHC helps families cope better and focus on the needs of their sick child, allowing them the ability to spend more time with their child, to interact with their doctors, and to make important decisions about their child’s care. As a child I was diagnosed with a brain tumor and my family’s life changed in one split second. I was rushed to the University of Chicago Comer Children’s Hospital where I was taken into surgery the very next day. My parents were tired and scared and of course didn’t want to leave my side. One of the nurses on my floor told my parents about The Ronald McDonald House that was near the hospital. Instead of driving back and forth to Indiana my parents were able to stay within walking distance so they could be there with me. They were able to sleep in a comfortable bed, take a shower, eat home cooked meals made by volunteers, and find support among other families going through medical hardships. I will forever be grateful for The Ronald McDonald House and the support they provided for my family during our time of need. Now I want to support them in raising money to pay it forward and help other families in need. So if you can I would appreciate your help!
It costs approximately $100 to give a family one night of comfort and support. Your donation, of any amount, will not only help me achieve my goal, but will help children stay close to their families when they need it most!
