Welcome to My Personal Page
The Ronald McDonald House provides a home-away-from-home for families who have a sick or injured child who is inpatient or outpatient at the local hospitals. Families who stay have a place to sleep, 3 meals a day, snacks, laundry, and lots of other amenities for free so that they can focus their energy and resources where it's needed most--their child.
Working at the Ronald McDonald House in Madison as the Volunteer and Operations Coordinator has been wonderful. It is an incredible honor to celebrate with families who have medical victories and miracles, as well as cry and lament with families who don't get the news they were hoping for.
My husband, Ryan (a current RMHC-Madison volunteer), and my in-laws have personally been impacted by RMHC. As Ryan's little brother, Austin, was battling cancer, the family stayed in Ronald McDonald Houses across the country to be close by him and his treatment. I adore my "new" family, and while I never had the privilege of meeting Austin, every time a blond little boy walks through the front doors of RMHC Madison I feel like I get to know Austin a little bit better.
On October 13th, I will be running the Chicago Marathon as a part of Team RMHC. Though I have never run a marathon, this will be easy in comparison to the every day realities families staying at the House face. It has been an incredible honor to be a part of such a worthy mission, and I invite all of you to also be a part of it. Please consider joining Team RMHC (reach out to me with any questions!) or donating to my fundraising effort. It would mean so much to me if you considered donating as a part of your year-end giving, or in honor of someone who means a lot to you. These monetary gifts are tax deductible, and all go directly to RMHC.
If you are not in a space to participate in joining Team RMHC to run or support my run financially, please consider giving your time to your local Ronald McDonald House. I would be happy to make introductions to any of my counterparts in at any of the other 386 houses.
Thank you!
