Welcome to David's personal fundraising page
On October 13th, I will be representing Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) at the 2024 Bank of America Chicago Marathon! As a member of Team RMHC, I will be training, fundraising and ultimately running 26.2 miles to help keep families together.
In 2011 the impact that RMH has on families became very evident to me and my family. Our second son was born with a very rare genetic abnormality that created an immediate need for a wide range of medical support. Throughout his life, our son Caleb, had many long stays at Hasbro Children's hospital. The support that we were able to find through RMH Providence deeply impacted who we were, and who we have become. Selflessness, sincerity, empathy, commitment and compassion are just a few of the qualities that resonate so strongly within the heart of RHM charity. I honestly don't know how we would have navigated the challenging aspects of long term, frequent hospital admissions without the support of the house and its amazing staff and volunteers.
Since our time there we have been committed to continue supporting what they stand for. I plan to run this marathon in both memory of my son and with the heart of the house on my mind. Please consider supporting this great organization, knowing that 100% of funds directly impacts families in need. RMHC helps millions of families each year by helping them cope better and focus on the needs of their sick child, allowing them the ability to spend more time with their child, to interact with their doctors, and to make important decisions about their child’s care. Removing the concern for where you will end your day, or spend the night, when your child is in the hospital has an impact that can't be quantified. RMH charities is literally changing lives through the care and support that they provide.
