2020 Raise Love - RMHC of Western Washington & Alaska

Katie's Krushers
We skate for Katie.
We skate for all the children and families at the Ronald McDonald House.
We are Katie’s Krushers.
Our dear friend Katie was a resident at the Ronald McDonald House while undergoing treatment at the Seattle Children's Hospital. Our women's teams had the pleasure of meeting Katie and her Mom, who were our honorary guests at the 2012 Hockey Challenge.
Katie was an avid hockey fan: We so enjoyed her presence in the locker room before our game and watching her drop the puck before the Seattle Thunderbirds game at night was a big highlight for all. Some of us got to know Katie off the ice as well...she always inspired us with her zest for life and strength in the fight against osteosarcoma.
Sadly, in January 2015, we lost our dear friend in the battle. However, Katie’s friendship, her courage and her fighting spirit will never be forgotten.
In 2020, we continue to skate and play our sport for Katie…and honor all those children and families whose lives have been touched by the Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) in Seattle and in Anchorage. Our team is unique in that we feature not only Seattle-based players, but are joined by players who bring their big hearts and goal scoring abilities all the way from Alaska!
